Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale's Gabby Thomas will be faced with the prospect of giving birth alone next week after she suddenly goes into labour while trying to secretly flee the village.

Gabby (Rosie Bentham) has already come up with a plan to leave Emmerdale behind with her grandmother Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen) and mum Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles), with Diane having recently made the decision that her time in the village is up.

Next week, Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) offers to buy out Diane's stake in the B&B and they share a tender moment, with the pair apparently going to miss each other more than they are willing to admit.

The next day, Diane shares her box of special Woolpack memories with Bernice and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) at the pub. Feeling nostalgic, Diane ends up agreeing to Chas's offer to throw a goodbye party for her. But the party doesn't seem to fit with Gabby's plans to do a moonlight flit...

Meanwhile, Gabby is preparing for some goodbyes of her own as she invites herself over for a family dinner with Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and her siblings. After the lunch is over, Gabby feels overwhelmed with emotion as she contemplates what she is about to leave behind.

Back at Home Farm, Gabby is growing ever more irritated at an irrational Kim Tate (Claire King) and she finally snaps at her, telling Kim that she won't be a part of the baby's life. Gabby announces to Diane that they need to leave sooner than planned – but whether Diane will agree to cancel her goodbye plans is another matter.

Gabby secretly packs up her things ready to leave, but she begins to struggle as she starts suffering from pains in her stomach. As she tries to haul her suitcase out of Home Farm, she crumples to the floor and begins going into labour.

Unfortunately for Gabby, she is completely alone in the house, with no charge in her phone and a power cut having left the house in darkness and cut off from the rest of the world...

Elsewhere, Diane shares a moment with Bernice as they prepare to collect Gabby and make their escape from the village. But little do they know that Gabby is alone at Home Farm and fighting her intense labour pains.
