Nike Announces Its 2021 Día De Muertos Footwear and Apparel Collection

The start of November is drawing closer, and that means Nike and Jordan Brand are gearing up to celebrate two important holidays: Halloween and Día De Muertos. In celebration of the latter, the two imprints have officially announced its forthcoming Día De Muertos footwear and apparel collection. This year, the assemblage lines up whimsical colorways of the Air Force 1 Low and Air Jordan 1 Mid along with matching apparel items that dive deeper into the concept of Siempre Familia which exemplifies the bond between families that is unbreakable.

The footwear pieces in this collection usher in elements of Mictlán which is the journey of nine levels that celebrates the infinite power of family connection with loved ones. The Air Force 1 Low is jam packed with stunning details including that of the intricately-embroidered Swooshes, bright orange overlays that are accessorized with debossed patterns and insoles that have been treated with a luxe purple velvet material. The Air Jordan 1 Mids here are just as playful in their appearance as it comes fitted with jaguar-inspired prints, a Swoosh logo that’s been shaped to mimic an arrow and tongues that bear Siempre Familia branding.

In the apparel department, the Swoosh team has readied a two-toned bomber jacket that features Mictlán illustrations on the front alongside graphic tees with elements of the holiday such as skulls and bones, the Xolo dog and imagery of jaguars and iguanas that are relevant to Día De Muertos.

The 2021 Día de Muertos collection is dropping on October 24 via SNKRS in Mexico, October 26 on the Nike App in Mexico and globally on October 29.
