Are All States Equally Ready for Electric Cars?

PA Electric Vehicles

Electric Vehicles have only accounted for 2% of car sales for the past couple of years, but those numbers are poised to increase dramatically. Research provided by the Electric Vehicle Report shows the interest in buying an electric vehicle exists (Tesla saw a 255% increase in electric sales in the 1st quarter), but people are worried that there is no existing infrastructure to make owning one feasible.

According to researcher, Andy Jenson, PA is ranked 29th when concerning all electric vehicle factors this study examined (affordability, existing infrastructure, etc), with states like Wyoming, Georgia, and Rhode Island performing much better. One of the biggest factors considered were tax incentives.

“Basically it’s the number of rebates and tax incentives. Everyone knows EV’s are a little pricier, so these tax incentives help bring the prices down.”

Despite several steps being taken to move up the list, Pennsylvania, and the Country, still have a while to go before they are prepared for a major increase in electric vehicles.
