CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Food and Drug Administration recently announced recalls for two medications.
First, Lupin Pharmaceuticals recalled its Irbesartan Tablets and Irbesartan and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets. The medication is used to treat low blood pressure as well as symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
The medication was recalled due to excessive levels of N-nitrosoirbesartan. The company says it's received four reports of illness from Irbesartan tablets.
A full list of the products that have been recalled can be seen here.
Also, Teligent Pharma's Lidocaine HCI Topical Solution 4% has been recalled. The company says that using the product can cause a higher than intended lidocaine dose, which can lead to local anesthetic system toxicity, a condition that leads to severe morbidity and even death. The product is available in 50ml glass bottles with a screw cap.
