In the latest TV show ratings, CBS’ NCIS: Hawai’i this Monday drew 5.3 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating, ticking up in the demo week-to-week and easily beating all comers in the 10 o’clock time slot.
Opening CBS’ night, The Neighborhood (5.1 mil/0.6), Bob Hearts Abishola (4.9 mil/0.5) and NCIS Minus Mark Harmon (7.4 mil/0.6, TVLine reader grade “B-“) all were steady in the demo — with the latter easily delivering Monday’s biggest audience.
Elsewhere:
NBC | The Voice (6.1 mil/0.8, read recap) dipped week-to-week to tie DWTS and 9-1-1 for the Monday demo win. Ordinary Joe (2.5 mil/0.4) was steady.
ABC | Dancing With the Stars (5.6 mil/0.8, read recap) ticked up week-to-week, landing in a three-day tie for the Monday demo win. Leading out of that, ABC News’ The Real Queens of Hip-Hop did 2 mil/0.4.
FOX | 9-1-1 (5.1 mil/0.8, read recap) was steady and tied DWTS and The Voice for the nightly demo win. The Big Leap (1.4 mil/0.3) rose to a three-week high in audience and also ticked up in the demo.
THE CW | Some Howie Mandel special did 380K/0.1.

The Live+Same Day numbers reported in our ratings column do not reflect a show’s overall performance, given the increased use of delayed playback via DVR and streaming platforms, plus out-of-home viewing. These numbers (Nielsen fast nationals, unless denoted as finals) instead aim to simply illustrate trends or superlatives. Happy Fun Ball contains a liquid core, which, if exposed due to rupture, should not be touched, inhaled, or looked at.
Hey Matt, I think you meant 9-1-1 to have a 0.8 demo, rather than 0.3 since you said it tied “Dancing” and “Voice”.
All fixed, thanks! In my defense, a 3 looks very much like an 8.

… did I have a stroke? Is this what a stroke feels like?
All the reports ABC is unhappy with dancing is hard to believe. It is tying the voice they have to be moderately happy with these ratings. I’d like to see Tyra go too but don’t think she’s the reason why the ratings are down.
I have been a fan since the beginning, but come on! Mark Harmon is the same age as I am, 70! Too old to be an “action hero”. Hope the show continues.
Pleased NCIS didn’t flop without Mark Harmon. I’m still concered whether or not it will have the staying power without the old dynamic going forward.
Me too. It will be interesting to see how things are going after 2022 gets underway.
Ordinary Joe was steady, but Rock Star Joe wife Amy was a little wayward. Did anyone else notice the Vince Cellini cameo as a newscaster?
Wise choice to give a heads up to long term NCIS fans. Gary Cole’s personality is completely opposite to Mark Hammond’s. Great introduction; we saw it coming; and telling us that Parker is Gibb’s recommendation just caps it. We shall miss Gibbs. while enjoying Parker.
I think in hindsight Fox should have aired The Big Leap after Masked Singer and held Alter Ego for midseason. Two musical shows(One drama) on the same night have great synergy. Why would 9-1-1’s audience care about the show?
As a viewer of NCIS since episode one, it is hard to see Mark Harmon leave the show. However, I will continue to watch as I have done when other cast members have left. I am really enjoying Katrina Law’s character and am open to the new team lead. I don’t know if this would ever happen, but it would be a cool addition to the cast if one of Mark Harmon’s sons joined the show. It certainly was fun having Mark Harmon’s wife on the show for a few episodes. In any case, I will continue to be a fan.
After watching NCIS without Gibbs, all I thought was….THAT WAS SO WEIRD! Not sure if I can continue watching. Been a fan of Gibbs since JAG!! We will see!
Was it necessary to have a big coming out episode for Joe’s best friend, Eric? Why couldn’t Ordinary Joe just establish that Eric was bisexual in the first episode? It’s like, “oh, you know this really funny guy that you all love? Well, he’s bisexual. Do you still love him?” It’s dumb. Just introduce him as bisexual. That is all. Oh, and Christopher is just uber talented! That voice! And, of course, Amy cheated on Joe. I’m Team Jenny. She’s much better for Joe.
Now that Mark Harmon is gone from NCIS any chance of bringing back Pauley Perrette?
Mark Harmon is still an executive producer of NCIS. The Showrunner,Steve Binder, has been with the show since the beginning in 2003 and by all accounts is good friends with Harmon.Pauley Perrette ,in her refusal to share scenes with Harmon during her last Season it caused fellow cast and crew a lot of time and difficulties having to split taping scenes. Her vague ambiguous allegations left most male co-workers under a pall of suspicion. No,IMHO she will not be back.
So far, NCIS Hawaii is falling flat, for me. The lead has no personality. The entire show is lacking in personality. The original NCIS was a nice mix of intensity, action and humor, I do not see that in the newest show. Very boring.
As far as I’m concerned, CBS brought Monday nights back to life and continued to give great life on Tuesday nights. However, it would still be nice to see Mark Harmon and Pam Dauber once in awhile. Great job CBS.
I just don’t think I can get used to Gary Cole as the team leader, they should just cancel the show, Mark Harmon was what made the show so great.
Watched NCS Hawaii and it still hasn’t gotten my support. The acting is fair and the script just doesn’t do anything for me. My opinion on the female lead I think is the wrong female actress for this series.
The actress I would have picked is the one you hired for NCIS. Her last name is Law. She was paired up with the Latin actor his name escapes me. Law has a much stronger ambience than the lead actress in NCIS Hawaii.
Now with NCIS….. the show is lacking togetherness and strength now that Gibbs is not in the picture. He was the core of the group and now that’s gone. It seems the cast doesn’t know how to do their job. They’re like dangling in the air not knowing what to do with their character. They seem lost.
Thank you for such great series. I’ve watched all of them from the beginning but NCIS Hawaii is not for me. I wish you would bring back NCIS New Orleans. I’ve watched every single episode and watched all the episodes at least 5 times over.
I watch Hawaii 5 0 every Friday like clockwork. That was a great series. I’m still watching NCIS original series and I hope it improves with Gibbs gone.
