Police: Wanted Kansas stabbing suspect turns himself in

SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a stabbing that sent a man to the hospital have made an arrest.

On Friday, police asking the public for assistance locating a person of interest in the stabbing as 41-year-old Keisson Smith.

On Monday, police detectives received information of his location after he requested to turn himself in.  Police arrested and transported Smith  to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

On Friday, police responded to the 1100 Block of SW Clay Street in Topeka regarding a recent stabbing call for service, according to Monasmith. The victim, a 45-year-old Topeka man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the incident.

Smith is being held on requested charges that include Aggravated battery, Aggravated assault and Felon in possession of a firearm
