Jimmie Allen talks pulling off ‘DWTS’ after welcoming new baby girl

Jimmie Allen is keeping his dancing shoes on despite being a new dad once again.

“I’m just trying to do what I can with what I got, which is a lot,” the country singer, 36, told Page Six and other reporters after performing during Monday’s “Grease Night” on “Dancing With the Stars.”

Allen and his wife, Alexis, welcomed a baby girl named Zara James in Nashville on Saturday. One day later, the “Best Shot” crooner had to immediately turn around and fly back to Los Angeles for “DWTS” camera blocking and rehearsals.

“For me, the hardest part is missing stuff,” shared Allen, who is also father to daughter Naomi, 1, and son Aadyn, 7. “The whole season I didn’t get to watch any of my son’s baseball games. I had to watch them all through videos or the phone. I got to see two practices, so that was cool.”

Allen also gushed about Naomi, saying that being away and across the country to do the show has made him miss a few of her big milestones.

“I’m missing my daughter Naomi doing new stuff every week,” he said. “She’s crazy. She’s definitely got a lot of me in her for sure. I’m gonna try not to miss too much more.”

On the plus side, now that Alexis — who is doing “good” since giving birth — is no longer pregnant with Zara, she’ll be able to travel on a tour bus with the kids to see Allen perform.

“I’m looking forward to experiencing their firsts while they get to experience me doing what I love,” he gushed. “I’m definitely thankful for my career. … I feel like life is about being a good parent but also doing what you love because doing what you love inspires your kids to do what they love.”

“Dancing With the Stars” airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
