Formula 1 star and seven-time world champion, Lewis Hamilton, gives his honest take on the recent talks regarding Mercedes' engine concerns.

During the Turkish Grand Prix, Hamilton was given a 10-place grid penalty after the team decided to replace his Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), giving the British driver his 4th of the season— which is beyond the limit of the race regulations.

Hamilton gives his take on these decisions made by the team.

“I don’t really give any energy to it, it’s not my job to worry about that stuff.

“I let the guys focus on that. My engine’s in good condition, my first engine I think did 6 races. We still have engine two and I think engine three is still there as far as I’m aware.

“Hopefully I don’t have to [take another engine] but I can’t predict what’s up ahead,” the British star stressed.

Mercedes admits that the decision to replace an engine stems from ‘contain[ing]' a reliability issue; Hamilton still ended the Turkish GP in fifth.

After having a drive like that, and an engine change this late, these factors can genuinely aid Hamilton's battle against Max Verstappen. Currently, Verstappen leads the Formula 1 driver standings with 262.5 points, just six points ahead of the seven-time world champion.

With just six races to go, fans will witness possibly one of the most intense finishes in Formula 1 history.
