MINDHUNTER Season 3 Could Happen if Fans Make Enough Noise

David Fincher’s Mindhunter is easily one of the best shows that Netflix has produced. We only got two seasons of the series and then it was put on “indefinite hold” by Netflix. Fans have been wanting to see the series continue because it was so damn good, and it was also building up the story of BTK, the conclusion of which we’ll never get to see if the show doesn’t return!

There have been rumors that Fincher and Netflix have been discussing the return of the series, and then last week Netflix teased a big announcement coming from Fincher. Everyone was so excited that it might be the official announcement of Mindhunter Season 3. Unfortunately, it just turned out to be a movie documentary series titled VOIR.

Well, now Mindhunter director Asif Kapadia thinks the series could actually happen if the fans make some noise. He shared on Twitter, "Audiences around the world need to let Netflix know that there is a real interest & demand for Season 3 of Mindhunter. If you make enough noise, it might actually happen…."

From what I’ve been seeing, the fans have been making a lot of noise. Hell, when it was announced that Fincher and Netflix were going to make a big announcement, everyone expected it to be Mindhunter Season 3! Then when that wasn’t announced, it was met with disappointment. That right there shows you audiences want Mindhunter Season 3!

When previously talking about Mindhunter and the reason that it might not continue, Fincher explained that it was a very expensive show, and that he’s not sure “if it makes sense to continue.” He said, “It was an expensive show. It had a very passionate audience, but we never got the numbers that justified the cost.”

It was also explained that the series was “exhausting” for Fincher. The filmmaker previously explained, “it’s a 90-hour work week. It absorbs everything in your life. When I got done, I was pretty exhausted, and I said, 'I don’t know if I have it in me right now to break season three.'”

Fincher said, “I certainly needed some time away. We had all hands on deck to finish [season two] and we didn’t have a ton of scripts and a ton of outlines and a bible standing by for season three. I’ll admit I was a little bit like ‘I don’t know that I’m ready to spend another two years in the crawl space.'”

I hope that Fincher and Netflix aren’t done with Mindhunter yet. That is one series that needs to continue!
