Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette was hailed by both his teammates and fans for scoring a late equalizer against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal was able to draw first blood with Pierre Emerick Aubameyang's early goal but ended up conceding twice in the second half.

Midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga gave huge praise to Lacazette for his heroics, scoring in stoppage time just so Arsenal can salvage a point.

“I think Lacazette did well today,” he said. “He backed me, he backed the team. I think when we come on we have to bring this mentality that Lacazette did.

“I think he brought fire when he came on and that’s what we need to try to do every time somebody comes on.”

The young Belgian midfielder also shared why Arsenal was able to lose some grip in the match after Aubameyang's early goal

“I think they (the goals) are from two mistakes, one of them mine as well,” the 21-year-old midfielder said. “It is an area where I cannot lose the ball, so it is difficult to speak about the goals when I made a mistake.

“It is difficult to say that we started the game well because we only had the goal. I think after that we relaxed too much because we had to look for the second goal, we had to put more pressure on them and we didn’t.

This season has not been perfect for Arsenal, many fans have expressed their disappointment with the club's performance after enduring significant struggle during the start of the Premier League season.

However, with late goals such as Lacazette's strike, fans can see a glimpse of the team's desire to win, which in any case, could be a sign for great things to come.
