Poehling sustained a head injury during an AHL game Saturday and is being evaluated for a concussion, Arpon Basu and Marc Antoine Godin of The Athletic report.
Poehling was among several players battling for a puck behind the net and took an elbow from an opponent and went immediately down to the ice. The sequence of events happed midway through the first period, and he did not return to the game. A concussion is suspected; it would be the second such injury suffered by Poehling, who had one during 2019 training camp.
