Coronation Street's Emma Brooker will experience more worries over her boyfriend Curtis Delamere's health next week, as she faces another blow in her attempts to help him.

Since Emma (Alexandra Mardell) and Curtis (Sam Retford) first met in May they have gone from strength to strength as a couple, but Curtis's revelation that he has an incurable heart condition has been a shock to Emma, particularly as he has recently experienced sudden collapses.

In the aftermath of the dramatic events of this week's Super Soap Week, next week will see Emma fawning over trainee doctor Curtis as she expresses how impressed she is by the way that Curtis went to people's aid and knew exactly what to do to help.

Curtis enjoys her flattery and the couple indulge in a relaxing pamper afternoon together at the flat, complete with facemasks.

But when Curtis reveals that he has agreed to do another shift at the hospital that evening, Emma worries that he is taking on too much and could be about to make himself ill.

Later in the week, Emma is shocked when Curtis runs his hand through his hair and a clump of hair falls out. When Curtis reveals that this is another side effect of his illness, Emma is heartbroken for him.

Emma confides in her dad Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) about how worried she is about Curtis's condition and she asks him if he would be able to lend her some money from his late son Oliver's fund, so that Curtis could pay to see a private consultant.

However, Steve gently explains to Emma that he can't release Oliver's funds for Curtis because people donated their money in good faith and it would be illegal to use the cash for any other purpose.
