Marvel boss Kevin Feige has opened up about the studio's big delay news.

Yesterday (October 18), it was confirmed that a host of MCU outings were having their release dates pushed back, namely Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Marvels and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania.

With each film being delayed somewhere between a few weeks or months from its original release, Feige has told fans that it's just a simple matter of shift changes.

Speaking at last night's Eternals premiere, the producer explained to Variety: "It's production shifts and changes, and because we have so many slots we could just shift slots. So all the Marvel slots are the same, we're just shifting the movies coming out.

"And yeah [Doctor] Strange is moving six weeks, so instead of there being three months between Marvel movies, there'll be five months between Marvel movies. And I think that we can all handle that."

As things stand, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is still sticking to its May 5, 2023 release date, while Spider-Man: No Way Home is still set for December 17 this year – though it is a Sony release, so any delay would not be announced as part of the recent changes.

Meanwhile, the first reactions have flooded in for Eternals following its premiere, with the film branded "beautiful", "mesmerising" and "epic" by some of those lucky enough to catch the first viewing.

However, not everyone was raving about the movie, one critic suggesting it "struggles with the amount of characters it introduces us to".

Eternals will be released in the US and the UK on November 5, 2021.
