Raheem Sterling Price Tag Named By Manchester City Amid Barcelona Transfer Interest

Manchester City will demand a whopping £67.7m (€80m) to allow Barcelona-linked Raheem Sterling to leave the club, according to stunning reports.

The 26-year-old winger has been battling for minutes this season after City’s £100m acquisition of Jack Grealish from Aston Villa in the summer.

City boss Pep Guardiola has regularly deployed Sterling as a centre forward this season instead of his preferred role as a winger.

Sterling has managed to score only once and registered one assist in 11 appearances for City across all competitions this season.

The City star, who is under contract until 2023, has been linked with an exit from the Etihad and Arsenal, Newcastle and Barcelona are all reportedly interested in signing him.

According to Marca, the defending Premier League champions have slapped a £67.7m price tag on Sterling.

Barcelona are keen to reinforce their squad in the January transfer window and have identified Sterling as one of their targets.

However, City’s hefty price tag for the England international is out of Barcelona’s reach amid the Spanish club’s financial difficulties.

Sterling, who arrived at City from Liverpool in 2015, has candidly admitted that he would be open to a move abroad to secure more regular playing time.

“If there was the option to go somewhere else for more game time, I would be open to it […],” he said this month.

“As an English player, all I know is the Premier League and I’ve always thought: ‘You know, maybe one day I’d love to play abroad and see how I would come up against that challenge.’”

Manchester United legend Roy Keane has suggested that Sterling and Guardiola might have had a “bust-up” and there is “something going on there.”

Arsenal hero Ian Wright believes that Sterling has the “right” to know more about his future at City.

Sterling has made over 300 appearances for City and won three Premier League titles, four League Cups and an FA Cup during his time with the club.
