Indianapolis – Carson Wentz continued his strong start to the season with another solid effort vs the Texans. Wentz finished the game 11/20 for 223 yards, 2 TD’s and 0 INT’s with a QB rating of 127.2, a 2nd consecutive game of a QB rating 125+.

Even after essentially no training camp because of foot surgery, and 2 sprained ankles sustained vs the Rams in Week 2, Wentz has been better than the Colts expected. JMV has found it odd that some Colts fans still aren’t excited about the QB and the future of the position for the team that he asked The Athletics’ Stephen Holder whether or not he should be appreciated more:

“I would say this and a lot of people will scoff at this but if Andrew Luck would of had the game Wentz had yesterday, people would throw him a parade…Look at how this guy is throwing the ball down the field. As much as I love Philip Rivers, you were not going to see this last year. This offense has more potential because of Carson Wentz. It hasn’t hit its potential is because of everyone else, not because of him. This offense has more potential than at any point since Andrew Luck retired.”

Through 6 games a year ago Carson Wentz had 8 TD’s and 10 INT’s with an average QB rating of 72.2. This season through 6 games Wentz has 9 TD’s and 1 INT with an average QB rating of 104.4.
