Celtic recorded an important win on the road against Motherwell after goals from David Turnbull and Jota. The win at Fir Park propels Celtic up to 4th and clawing back Rangers’ lead at the top of the table after Hearts rescued a deserved point at Ibrox.

Portuguese winger Jota opened the scoring after an inch perfect assist from Tom Rogic. The Australian played it into the path of the winger, who feigned a cross across the face of goal before blasting an effort in at the near post.

David Turnbull made it 2-0 to Celtic after an excellent strike. The attacking midfielder took the ball from Jota before dispatching a swerving effort that went from left to right and left and giving Liam Kelly absolutely no chance. Turnbull didn’t celebrate against his former employers but he and his teammates certainly enjoyed what is already a Goal of the Season contender.

Celtic face Ferencvaros in the Europa League tomorrow before returning to League duty on Saturday against Double-winning side St Johnstone.
