With production limited to 75 examples and an astronomical $1.4 million price tag, few people will ever get to experience the thrill of driving the McLaren Senna GTR. It's so hardcore that it isn't even legal to drive on the road. There is, however, an easier and more affordable way to own one. McLaren's track monster is one of many cars that has been given the Lego Technic treatment. Now, all you need is a smartphone to experience this track animal (in a different capacity).

For a limited time, the Lego Technic McLaren Senna GTR can be raced in Asphalt 9: Legends, a free-to-play racing game available on smartphones, PC, and Nintendo Switch. One of the most popular mobile racing games, Asphalt 9 has been downloaded over one billion times.

If you've never played an Asphaltgame, the series is a more accessible alternative to games like Forza and Gran Turismo, with a focus on speed, boosting, and executing high-octane stunts. Anyone can pick up and play Asphalt 9 thanks to its intuitive TouchDrive system, which automatically accelerates and simplifies the steering to make the game easier for less experienced players.

From now until October 30, players can race the Lego Technic McLaren Senna GTR in Asphalt 9's first-ever Lego Technic McLaren Grand Prix event. Completing the two qualifying rounds will earn players a place in the final rounds taking place on October 22-31. If you have the skills, you could become one of nine winners who will be crowned champions and have a chance to win a Lego Technic McLaren Senna GTR set and in-game rewards. If only McLaren was feeling generous enough to give away a real McLaren Senna GTR for free.

For its appearance in Asphalt 9, every detail of the 830-piece Lego Technic McLaren Senna GTR has been meticulously recreated, from its V8 engine and moving pistons to its aerodynamic design, scissor doors, and one-of-a-kind blue livery. Over 160,000 digital triangles were used to digitally recreate the Lego Technic McLaren Senna GTR.

"We are always looking to give our fans new ways to enjoy the Lego Technic play experience," said Niels Henrik Horsted, Head of Lego Technic Products. "This collaboration gives our fans the chance to get behind the wheel of this one-of-a-kind model for themselves and take it for a spin. When we designed the LEGO Technic McLaren Senna GTR we pushed ourselves to the limit to do justice to the engineering excellence of McLaren Automotive, and we're thrilled to be able to replicate it virtually in such a standout way with Gameloft. We can't wait to see our fans on the track!"
