The Call of Duty ‘Haunting Event’ for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War has been officially revealed, and we have everything you need to know covered, from the roadmap details, the limited-time modes coming such as ‘Ghosts of Verdansk’, bundles being added and more for the game.
Cold War and Warzone Haunting Roadmap
Night is falling upon for Verdansk once again, and perhaps for the final time. Call of Duty is delivering a solid amount of content shown in their roadmap for the Halloween event.
Featuring the “Ghosts of Verdansk” limited-time mode, The Haunting in Warzone brings Verdansk back under nightfall where players need to survive against fallen players who return as ghosts, similar to the zombies from last year. In Black Ops Cold War, new modes in Multiplayer and Zombies are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit, including Halloween Prop Hunt, a Halloween version of Nuketown, and Scream Deathmatch where two players are Ghostface and all other players are Survivors who have to withstand the slaughter against them.
And as an extra special bonus across both games, completing The Haunting’s challenges will unlock the prototypical Lapa SMG – the first-ever ranged weapon event reward – which will also have a unique weapon blueprint available in the store alongside Halloween-themed bundles.
Zombies Content
Zombies fans are definitely not being forgotten in this update, as even though Forsaken dropped only recently, new content is coming for Cold War Zombies. A new mode is coming for zombies called Hallows Eve Outbreak, where players need to survive for 10 minutes and exfiltrate from a single Region. Your squad even gets to choose between two random regions before infiltration, and there’s a World Event that can give a massive boost to your Loadout, which is an Orda, a significant challenge for many players. The difficulty will also increase, with the World difficulty increasing every two minutes, so things will heat up fast.
In addition to all this, more updates are coming to the rest of the Cold War Zombies experience. Scare Packages containing high-value rewards will spawn every five rounds in round-based maps, and in every Outbreak Region. Zombies will have a small chance of dropping the new Jack O’Lantern item for additional rewards, including Wonder Weapons, Support Weapons, Ammo Mods, Chalices, Aether Tools, and high-level Armor… but beware, things may not always be as they seem.
Halloween Bundles
Of course just like last year, new Halloween-themed bundles will be coming to Cold War and Warzone, and will be characters such as Ghostface from the infamous Scream franchise, and Frank the Rabbit from Donnie Darko.
As well as these, there will be a new zombie-themed disciple bundle for Weaver, including the ability to earn 300 COD points back through an operator mission, and the “Necro Queen” Operator Skin for Portnova, as well as a Reactive Mastercraft “Void Monster” Assault Rifle Blueprint, this Bundle could help you rule life, death, and the space between. Maxis is also getting a Halloween skin over the course of the event with an Ultra-rarity “Lumens” Skin for Maxis and three Legendary Weapon Blueprints with bright electric Tracer Fire.
