A man opened fire at a Halloween house party in Whittier Friday night critically injuring three teenagers, police said.

Deputies responded to the house on Obregon Street around 11 p.m. after receiving a report about a fight at the party, the L.A. Times reported.

The suspected gunman opened fire into the crowd, “possibly at some guys he was fighting with,” said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Carlos Sanchez.

The gunfire erupted outside the home, and the chaos that ensued disrupted another event nearby.

Sanchez said the victims – ages of 15 to 19 – were in critical but stable condition.

Authorities told reporters the suspected shooter ran from the house. He remains at large. Police have not been able to identify him yet.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
