Six Inducted into DeSales University Hall of Fame

Center Valley, PA (October 18, 2021) - The DeSales University athletic department inducted six new members into the Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday evening to kickoff off Homecoming weekend on campus.

Inductees included: Mike Kearney '93, Amy (Gould) Brooks '97, Kate (Baxter) Meredith '98, Pete Remaly '99, Louis Corominas '06, and Darnell Braswell '10.  Each inductee made an everlasting impression on DeSales University athletics and will join the 76 current members and eight other teams who were recognized in previous years.  You can view a small bio on each Hall of Famer here - CLICK HERE.

Mike Kearney (Cardinal Doughtery HS) was a standout on the men's basketball team from 1989-93. Kearney was named ESAC All-Conference twice, ECAC All-Region First-Team once, and was the Dr. John Compardo Male Athlete of the Year in 1993. He scored 1,363 career points, which still ranks seventh all-time at DeSales. Kearney is also among the all-time leaders in rebounds, field goal percentage, and double-doubles.

Amy (Gould) Brooks (Cardinal Dougherty HS) was a standout runner on the women's cross country and track & field teams from 1992-97. Brooks earned PAC Runner of the Year and First-Team honors twice in her career and was named to the PAC/CSAC 25th Anniversary CC team. She also earned All-Mid East Region honors twice, placing among the top 25 and is a member of the 4x800 indoor relay team that still owns the school-record.

Kate (Baxter) Meredith (Archbishop Wood HS) was a standout on the women's basketball team from 1994-98 and three-year member of the volleyball team from 1995-97. Meredith helped DeSales win three conference championships earning All-PAC honors twice and being named All-MAC First-Team as a senior. She was also named ECAC All-Region and the Dr. John Compardo Female Athlete of the Year as a senior. Meredith still ranks among the career leaders in scoring (1,261 career points), rebounds, double-doubles, and field goal percentage.

Pete Remaly (Whitehall HS) was a standout on the baseball team from 1995-98 helping DSU win three conference championships and two ECAC South Region Championships. Remaly was named All-Conference twice and earned ECAC All-Region honors once as a junior. He still ranks among the top ten all-time in triples, stolen bases, and runs scored.

Louis Corominas (Hackettstown HS) was a standout on the men's track & field team for four years. Corominas was a four time NCAA National Championship qualifier earning All-American honors three times. He was an eight time MAC Individual Champion, winning the 400-meters between indoors and outdoors six times. Corominas was named the MAC Track Athlete of the Year twice, honored on the MAC All-Century Team, and the Dr. John Compardo Male Athlete of the Year as a senior.

Darnell Braswell (William Allen HS) was a standout on the men's basketball team from 2006-10 graduating and still serving as the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,745 career points. Braswell was a two-time MAC Freedom Player of the Year, All-MAC Freedom three times, All-Region multiple times, and a two-time NABC First-Team All-American. He was honored as the Dr. John Compardo Male Athlete of the Year as a senior and helped DSU win two MAC Freedom Championships, advance to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8 as a junior and Sweet 16 as a senior.
