4-year-old called ‘superhero’ after miraculously surviving 70-ft fall

Like all superheroes, one boy flew and lived to tell the tale.

Kentucky rescuers are flabbergasted over the case of a 4-year-old boy who fell 70 feet down into a gorge.

“Just after 2:00 p.m. today, WCSART deployed on a mission that would result in nothing short of a miracle,” wrote the Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team in a Facebook post describing the harrowing incident, which occurred Friday in the Daniel Boone National Forest.

The unnamed tyke was reportedly hiking with his parents near the Princess Arch section of the Red River Gorge when he slipped away from his folks and “took a tumbling fall off of a cliff,” per the post.

During the freaky fall, the boy reportedly plummeted a total of 70 feet and hit multiple ledges on his way down.

Fearing the worst, the boy’s father sprang into action and scrambled down the cliff face to his son. He then swooped the boy up and carried his boy downhill, and across a suspension bridge, before rendezvousing with the emergency squad at local Highway 715.

Miraculously, the child was unharmed despite being “scraped up and bruised,” per the Facebook report.

The fall didn’t even seem to dampen to tough tot’s spirits. WCSART wrote that he was “very talkative” and “very interested in super heroes,” adding that “the only super hero present was him.”

After being examined by medics, the lucky fellow was discharged into the care of his very relieved parents.

Suffice it to say, the hardy boy’s incredible survival tale left social media stunned.

“A Miracle in the Gorge,” wrote one astonished gawker of the “Unbreakable”-evoking saga.

Another commented, “A miracle for sure and a good reminder to those hiking with children that it only takes a moment.”

Others praised the father for his courageous actions with one newfound fan writing, “His Daddy was a big superhero too!!!!

“Way to go, dad!” gushed another. “He didn’t hesitate to follow his boy down and bring him back to safety.”

This isn’t the first time a tot has seemingly defied certain death. Last week, a child in China was run over by a combine harvester — and came away virtually unscathed.
