Apple Rolls out Third Generation AirPods that Provide “Spatial Audio,” Surround Sound

In today’s online event, its second in the last month, Apple focused on improving users’ enjoyment of “music and the Mac,” when the tech company introduced its third generation AirPods that now provide “spatial audio,” or new, 360-degree audio technology that provides “virtual surround sound.”

“At Apple, we are focused on creating innovative products and experiences: products that offer our users new ways to use their creativity and to enjoy the creativity of others,” said a speaker on an Apple online event that highlighted the progression of its AirPods, as they increased in price form $129, to $179, to $249, and in headphones that look a lot like the ones we used to wear before earbuds: but now they cost $549.

“Our deep integration of hardware, software, and services let you enjoy a seamless music experience with amazing sound quality on all your devices,” the Apple sales representative said. This fall, Apple promised with excitement, “We are taking the Apple Music Experience even further.”

AirPods, which are one of the most popular music products Apple has created, the speaker said, “combine with the iPhone bring an industry-leading, wireless music experience: wherever you go.”

Apple promoted its Mac and IPad “multi-speaker sounds systems bring incredible audio to any space,” the vlog declared. “Homepod Mini is the best way to enjoy your music, throughout your home.

“AppleWatch is a fantastic way to enjoy music, right from your wrist: providing the soundtrack you need to stay active and fit, and of course there is AppleMusic, which has more than 90 million songs and 30,000 curated playlists in its global catalog.”

In addition to focusing on its products that focus on music, Apple announced that its new MacBook Pro laptops feature M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

The new MacBooks , which now come in either 16-inch and 14-inch screens, also include SD card slots for photographers and HDMI ports that connect to displays and TVs. The new Apple laptops also use a MagSafe magnetic connector, which was a beloved feature from older MacBooks.

Users, however, can still charge their laptops using the USB-C ports: of which there are three that support Thunderbolt connections.

Apple also said that the MacBooks' displays use MiniLED technology to create their ProMotion screens, which refresh at higher rates that they did previously.
