Cody Jinks Congratulates Randy Travis On His “Artist Of A Lifetime” Award

Randy Travis has had one of the must influential careers in country music.

From his impressive plethora of hit songs, to his glowing personality, it’s no secret that the man is one of the most well liked artists in all of country music.

Travis accepted his “Artist of a Lifetime” award at the CMT Artists of the Year ceremony last Wednesday, and it’s hard to find anybody else who’s more deserving.

It’s easy to see the impact that he’s made on today’s country artists, especially after seeing that emotional tribute from Jon Pardi. When Travis made a surprise visit to Pardi, you can tell just how much Randy’s music means to him.

And now, we have yet another incredible singer/songwriter expressing his excitement for Travis’ award…

None other than Cody Jinks.

Jinks posted a video of congratulations on Instagram yesterday:

“Hey Randy, on behalf of me and my family, congratulations on your CMT Artist of a Lifetime award.

You know how much you mean to me and my family, going all the way back to when I was singing “Diggin’ Up Bones” with my dad.

My very first memory of singing with my dad while he was playing guitar, so, thank you for that, and all the best, and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of this for you. God bless.”

Jinks has shared the stage a number of times with Randy Travis, and over the past few years, his cover of “Diggin’ Up Bones” has become a pretty common occurrence in the setlist.

Earlier this year, Cody surprised fans in Oklahoma by bringing Randy out on stage, while at the same time, thanking Randy for being his musical hero.

“This man sitting right here is the reason I sing the way I do.”
