With its powerful engine options, the Land Rover Range Rover has the advantage for performance. Engine options include a base turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 (395 hp/405 lb-ft of torque), a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 (518 hp/461 lb-ft of torque), and another supercharged 5.0-liter V8 variant (557 hp/516 lb-ft of torque). In comparison, the LX 600 offers only one engine: a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6. It produces 409 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque.

On the towing front, the Range Rover has a maximum towing capacity of 7,716 pounds. While Lexus didn’t yet release the towing capacity of the LX 600, it probably is similar to the 300-series 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser (8,100 pounds). The 2022 Land Cruiser has the same platform and mechanical components and platform as the 2022 LX 600.

Lexus LX 600 vs. Range Rover: Off-road capabilities

Both the LX 600 and Range Rover are great SUVs for heading off the beaten path on wilderness adventures. The LX 600 comes standard with a four-wheel drive system and carries the off-road legacy of its sibling, the Land Cruiser. Off-road features include a multi-terrain monitor, a multi-terrain select feature, a Torsen limited-slip differential, an adaptive variable suspension, an active height suspension, downhill assist control, and crawl control.

The Range Rover has an all-wheel drive system for all models and the backing of decades of legendary Land Rover off-road performance. Off-road features for the Range Rover include the Terrain Response 2 system, an electronic air suspension, all-terrain progress control, and an active rear locking differential. With the Terrain Response 2 system, the Range Rover offers many selectable driving modes. This includes Rock Crawl, Sand, Mud and Ruts, Grass/Gravel/Snow, Comfort, Eco, and Dynamic. The off-road advantage goes to the Range Rover.

Lexus LX 600 vs. Range Rover: Interior features and technologies

Luxury is not in short supply for the LX 600 and Range Rover, with premium materials and many luxurious amenities. The Lexus LX 600 Ultra Luxury trim offers a VIP seating experience for the rear seat passengers. It has opulent chairs that can recline up to 48 degrees, as well as footrests. 

With the Westminster Edition model, the Range Rover has perforated Windsor leather seats, a four-zone climate control system, and 20-way heated and cooled front seats. Also, the Range Rover SV Autobiography raises the bar even higher for luxury with “hot stone” massage front seats and ebony leather seats.

Both the Lexus LX 600 and Range Rover offer a plethora of useful technologies, including an infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and high-quality audio systems. However, the LX 600 has a more user-friendly information system, with a large 12.3-inch upper touchscreen, along with a lower 7.0-inch touchscreen. In comparison, the Range Rover has dual 10.0-inch touchscreens.

LX 600 vs. Range Rover: Safety

You can count on a safe ride for both the LX 600 and Range Rover, especially with their wide array of safety-enhancing driving assistance features. This includes a blind-spot monitoring system, cross-traffic alert, automatic high beam headlights, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and a pre-collision system.

LX 600 vs. Range Rover: Price/value

While Lexus hasn’t yet announced the pricing for the 2022 LX 600, it will likely cost less than the 2022 Range Rover. Starting prices for the 2022 Range Rover vary between $92,000 for the base trim, up to $211,000 for the top-of-the-line SV Autobiography model.

For the 2022 LX 600, we can estimate its cost by looking at its predecessor, the 2021 LX 570. The starting price for the 2021 LX 570 is $86,960 for the two-row model and $91,930 for the three-row model. With the 2022 LX 600, the starting price of the base trim will probably be over $90,000, while the new Ultra Luxury model will likely cost over $100,000.
