[mlb.com] Braves ‘never quit,’ walk off LA AGAIN in G2

“These guys never quit”

“Magic can happen”

Bla bla bla, the usual stuff was said after a second consecutive walk-off win from the Braves against the LA Dodgers. That was some poor defending by Trea Turner, man, be honest. But you need some luck in sports and the aggressive running by the Braves was some well executed strategy. You have to be at your best to beat LA and that is exactly what Atlanta is doing. Let’s hope they can keep that up the rest of the series: last season (*) the Braves were up 2-0 and 3-1 in the NLCS against the Dodgers and some might still remember how that ended.

[mlb.com] Max’s ‘arm was dead’

“My arm was dead,” Scherzer said. “I could tell when I was warming up that it was still tired. … Usually in those situations, once you get past pitch 45, sometimes it loosens up, and you’re able to get deeper into a game. But after that third inning, it didn’t loosen up. It was still more tightening up. So I could tell that my pitch count was going to be limited.”

[MLB Trade Rumors] Padres Expected To Interview Mike Shildt; Not Planning To Interview Ron Washington

Everyone is still trying to find out why Shildt was fired by the Cardinals. The Padres are even more intrigued than us and will interview Shildt to find out why. Maybe he gets a job offer as reward.

[ESPN] Major League Baseball to require teams to provide housing for minor league players starting in 2022

Owners have shown more than once that they don’t care about their minor league teams or players. Why should they? They only cost money. That is not how they got rich. But in the end MLB has said enough is enough. Bigger bases, a free pass to second in the extras, ...: MLB wants baseball players to feel well and comfortable and now housing seems like a logical next step.

[Yahoo Sports] Scouts and executives on why Bob Melvin would be obvious choice as Mets manager

It’s practically impossible to find anybody in baseball who doesn’t think Bob Melvin would be a no-brainer for the Mets, such is his glowing reputation as a long-time big league manager, including the last 11 seasons with the Oakland Athletics.
