Stephanie Martinez, 39, was arrested on Sept. 30 after state troopers received a report of a driver who appeared "unresponsive."

Martinez' 2001 Toyota 4-Runner was subsequently identified as stolen.

Upon questioning, police said Martinez lied about her identity, providing several different alias names.

However, troopers soon learned she was wanted as a person of interest for the homicide of Paul Rios, 34, found dead in a Newark parking lot two days prior.

Leigh Valley Live reports she was arrested and charged after the Pennsylvania stop with receiving stolen property, a felony, and providing false identification to a law enforcement officer, a misdemeanor.

Martinez was arraigned in front of a Pennsylvania district judge and rather than pay a bail set at $20,000, she was taken to Leigh County Jail.

Martinez has since been charged with felony murder, murder, robbery and theft in connection to Rios' homicide.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office said Martinez was captured in surveillance footage from the fatal incident.

Katherine Carter, a spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office, said Martinez faces extradition to New Jersey for the homicide charges.
