    Finding Her Niche

It only took Madison Manning ’24 a few weeks to find her niche on the Le Moyne campus.  In that short time, Madison discovered that her professors knew her by name. They were committed to helping her achieve her academic goals and available to answer any question she might have, whether it was about classwork or College life in general. In short, she’d found an environment that was inclusive and in which people could be themselves and learn from one another.

A Baldwinsville, N.Y., native who is majoring in psychology and pursuing certification in childhood education, Madison was drawn to Le Moyne because she wanted to be close to home while also making the most of the college experience. She also knew that Le Moyne’s academic reputation would help her successfully transition to the working world and realize her goal of becoming an elementary educator. For now, though, Madison is simply enjoying her college experience. She is becoming more involved on campus, and plans to join the cheerleading team and the Psychology Club.

Madison says two words come to mind when she thinks about Le Moyne: welcoming and inclusive. Her advice to other students considering transferring to the College? Go for it.

“Transferring to Le Moyne has been one of the greatest decisions I have made in my life so far,” she says. “The second I stepped foot on campus I felt welcomed and was greeted by so many smiling faces. Out of all of the college tours I have been on, I have never felt more welcomed than I did at Le Moyne, with my professors and peers are always looking out for one another and offer support and encouragement.”
