Reveligion’s creations usually tap into the fantastic and dreamy side of fashion. With voluminous and fluffy designs sewed in tulle, its latest collection followed in the usual manner. However, if one looked closer, this new proposal was a bit different. “It is more approachable, a little less dreamy and more real-life focused,” clarified creative director María Rodríguez Blanco. The shift is no accident. “Clients need to feel they can wear my creations with jeans too. It’s great if they wear one of my dresses to an event, but we needed to offer more options.”

This change wasn’t just a creative strategy but also a financial move. “Our dresses were made with up to five rolls of tulle, now we go for one or two instead. This makes the designs soberer, but also more affordable. It’s what I like to call accessible luxury,” Blanco said. But elsewhere see-through dresses and sequined bodysuits showed that the brand is still very attached to its roots.

“I feel like everything we have seen or heard through the past two years was bad news, so even if I did focus on a more wearable collection I wanted to make it a celebration and give people some optimism and playfulness,” Blanco said. “When I went to choose the materials I just went nuts and bought the fabrics in all the colors I could find.” The result is a mix of blue, yellow, and purple gowns for people who like to make an entrance. “I am just fascinated by the female figure. I don’t think I will ever get tired of the curves,” Blanco said.
