UPDATE: Three pets unaccounted for in Greenbrier County fire

UPDATE: Monday, October 18, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. (WVNS)– A family is without a home after a fire broke out on Creekview Lane in Caldwell Monday morning.

Officials said the call came in just before 8 a.m. and the blaze took two hours to get under control.  Everyone did make it out safely, however, three pets are unaccounted for at this time.  

We spoke to Jebediah Rogers, a close friend of the family. He told 59News that they lost everything and is asking the community to help them start over again.

“Its devastation,” Rogers said. “When I first saw it, I didn’t know what was burnt, and then when I came up on it, it’s just tragedy. The only thing that really works is prayer. We really can use monetary donations.” 

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Friends said they plan to create a donation site in the near future.  Stick with 59News as this story continues to develop.


UPDATE: Monday, October 18, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. (WVNS) — Emergency 911 Center Director, Mike Honaker confirmed three pets are believed to be dead in a house fire this morning in Caldwell.

He told 59News the fire happened Monday morning at a double-wide trailer on Creekview Lane. Three pets are unaccounted for and Honaker said they’re believed to be dead. No people were harmed in the incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.


CALDWELL, WV (WVNS) — Crews responded to a fire in Greenbrier County on Monday, October 18.

Mike Honaker, Director of the Greenbrier County 911 Center, said it happened at a home on Creekview Lane in Caldwell just before 8 a.m.

Fire departments from Fairlea, Ronceverte, White Sulphur Springs and Lewisburg responded, along with the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Department.

There is no word yet on what started the fire. No injuries were reported. Stay with 59News for the latest details on this developing story.
