Red Bull chief Christian Horner is hopeful that the upcoming races in Brazil and Mexico can swing the pendulum in his team's favour in the gripping title race with Max Verstappen.

Verstappen's victory at the Turkish Grand Prix has put the Red Bull ace back at the top of the Formula One championship, with Hamilton finishing in fifth having taken a grid penalty for a power unit change.

However, Mercedes look to be the stronger team following the race in Istanbul and are now preparing for the United States Grand Prix, a venue that has brought vast success in the past.

Hamilton has won five times in Texas, while Mercedes as a constructor have won six of the eight races in Austin since the venue change in 2012.

Horner is well aware that the US is a Hamilton 'stronghold' but believes the upcoming races in Mexico and Brazil, which take place at a higher altitude, could swing the balance back in Verstappen's favour.

"I think we know the next race in Austin has been a Hamilton stronghold for quite a few years now. But then Mexico and Brazil, hopefully, the higher altitude races tended to be quite strong for us in the past, and then not really sure what to expect in the last three.

"It is going to be fascinating but we are going to have to be at the very top of our game."

Verstappen's lead in the Driver's Championship stands at just six points heading into the final six race weekends of the season.
