With the fans back, the early signs are that Roberto Firmino might be back in top form, too. Not that he ever really was all that out of form, at least judging by his underling numbers—he was just struggling to finish his chances.

According to reports out of Italy this week, though, it is certain Firmino will leave Liverpool next summer, when the 30-year-old will be down to two years remaining on his contract. And the current frontrunners to sign him are Bayern Munich.

Or at least that’s the story from Calciomercato Milan, who say that Firmino is a top target for AC Milan but that the Serie A club will struggle to win a race against the German giants should they remain determined to sign Firmino.

As for Bayern’s supposed interest, it’s said to hinge on whether Robert Lewandowski stays in Germany beyond the current season or if he instead heads to Manchester City for a new challenge before his career winds down.

Meanwhile, it’s said that Liverpool have other plans for striker beyond the current campaign. All of which seems speculative in the extreme, being this is the first we’re hearing about Firmino to Bayern and it’s from an Italian outlet.

Regardless, it says something about the quality of Liverpool’s squad that a player like Firmino whose finishing has been a concern for some in recent seasons can be reasonably linked with a club like Bayern Munich.
