Gov. DeSantis announces $6.1M grant for technical education center in Hernando County

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Hernando County is getting a $6.1 million grant for a new center that will provide workforce training for students, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Monday.

The governor discussed the new Suncoast Technical Education Center with Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran and Florida Senate President Wilton Simpson during a press conference at Brooksville’s American Aviation Flight Academy.

The governor said the program is being ran by Pasco Hernandez State College and the Hernando County School Board. Students will be able to enroll in a variety or programs related to manufacturing, education, healthcare and aviation.
