Free Guy Streaming Now in India on Disney Plus Hotstar

Ryan Reynold's Free Guy was a surprise hit to have come out during the pandemic, with the film doing well enough at the box office to get a sequel greenlit. Now, just over a month after the film's theatrical release, Free Guy is finally available to stream on Disney Plus Hotstar in India. The film is now streaming in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

"Ryan’s character Guy is, in my mind, a direct descendent of Tom Hanks in ‘Big,’ of Will Ferrell in ‘Elf,’ someone with tremendous charm," said director Shawn Levy. "He has the humor of Ryan Reynolds, but without the cynicism of the ‘Deadpool’ franchise (and that’s a franchise I frickin’ love, just to be clear). This is Ryan in a way that we haven’t seen him, a little bit more wide-eyed, good and innocent."

Free Guy follows the life of a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game. The story takes a turn when he decides to become the hero of his own story, the one he rewrites himself. Now in a limitless world, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way, before it is too late.

While there hasn't been an official announcement about the sequel's plot or release date, director Shawn Levy has said that it could potentially take place in the Minecraft or Call of Duty universes, similar to how the first film takes inspirations from GTA Online.

Free Guy is now available to stream in India on Disney Plus Hotstar in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Disney Plus Hotstar has replaced its tiered subscription model with the new one, providing access to all Disney Plus content as well as the full content catalogue in all available languages, irrespective of the subscription plan.
