Atlantis Charter/Connolly football player wins Player of the Week for Oct. 4-10

FALL RIVER — Congrats to Adam Banks for being voted as the Herald News Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 4-10.

The Atlantis Charter/Connolly/Westport sen football player had 82 yards on the ground, including a 69 yard touchdown run against St. John Paul II.

He collected 43% (71 votes out of 164) from the voters to take first place.

Banks beat out Somerset Berkley field hockey player Reese Swanson (27%) and Diman football player Jacob Furtado, who finished third with 8% of the vote.

Others receiving votes were Somerset Berkley’s Lauren Rothwell and Dylan Rodriguez, Diman football players Jayden Massey and Alex Rivest.

Every week during the high school, the Herald News will ask readers to cast their votes for Player of the Week among the Greater Fall River athletes.

Winners are announced on Monday.

The poll begins on Tuesday and ends on Friday at 5 p.m.
