Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel could be waiting for a shocking news about one of his favorite players.

A major update on Antonio Rudiger’s rumored unique situation. It was earlier claimed that the Chelsea veteran could become one the highest paid defenders in history if his reported demand of £90,000-a-week will be met by the Blues.

Should Chelsea decides not to match Rudiger’s price tag, the actualization of the said deal will not be like a walk in the park outside Stamford Bridge either as not too many big-spending clubs might be willing to splurge the aforementioned figure on him, per The Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

“I don’t think there are many clubs around Europe that would give [Antonio] Rudiger the sort of money that he wants from Chelsea because there are probably cheaper alternatives to some of those clubs,” Brown exclusively told Give Me Sport.

“So, he may not have that many options really, if he wants that kind of money,” he continued.

Aware of the complicated scenario between Chelsea and Rudiger, who has been one of Tuchel’s most active players thus far, the German previously admitted that all he can do is “hope” that everything goes well in the negotiations.

“I hope that they find a solution but it’s not only between coaches and players,” Tuchel said of Rudiger last month via Eurosport.

“It’s between the club and the player’s agent,” he explained. “[Rudiger] He plays excellent for a long time – very consistent [and] at a very high level.”
