Taking the T Monday? You might get a free Dunkin’ gift card at these stations.

America runs on Dunkin’, Boston runs on Dunkin’, and Monday, the T will be joining that list.

The MBTA will be giving out free $5 Dunkin’ gift cards to riders at select stations on Monday “as a thank you for taking the T.” They will also be handing out free masks, according to the MBTA.

“Just like riders rely on Dunkin’ to stay runnin’ throughout their day, riders also depend on the T to get them where they need to go when they need to get there,” MBTA spokesperson Lisa Battiston wrote in an email.

MBTA General Manager Steve Poftak and MassDOT Secretary and CEO Jamey Tesler and will be handing out gift cards and masks at South Station at 1 p.m. Oct. 18. The two will be located on the Commuter Rail concourse level of South Station.

“The MBTA continues to welcome new and returning riders, and wants people to take the T,” Battiston wrote.

MBTA volunteers — known as the Transit Navigation Crew — will also be handing out the gift cards and masks at these select T stations at various times while supplies last:

  • Ashmont
