Try apple cake in a Bundt pan for a dessert that's fit for a king

Until a few years ago when the recipe of the year for King Arthur flour was a Bundt cake, I sort of forgot that Bundt cakes were a thing.

Over the years my family and I have joked about the “Bundt” after watching “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” I incorrectly assumed a bundt was an easy way out for a dessert offering, and there can’t be much to any Bundt cake. Until I discovered this recipe.

Perhaps it was a picture of a Bundt cake that inspired me to pursue the Bundt craze. I borrowed a beautifully detailed Bundt pan from a friend. Then I scoured pages of recipes till I happened upon this one on King Arthur’s Instagram.

They made this recipe in a 9" x 13" pan. So I reached out to the baker's hotline to see if I could possibly bake it in a Bundt. I’m so glad I asked. The answer was yes, and they sent me a link to an article on everything I need to know about sizing and bake times for a cake baked in a bundt pan.

It’s topped with an old-fashioned brown sugar icing that adds a crown to the castle of cake. This recipe bursts with flavor, and baked in a Bundt pan, produces a cake superior  enough to present to a king. This is by far the best apple cake I’ve ever had. The icing puts it over the top.
