BHN Puck Links: Former Boston Bruins Assistant GM Suffers Scare

Best wishes for former Boston Bruins assistant general manager Jim Benning, who had two of his children reportedly jumped by four men outside a Vancouver nightclub this weekend. One of Benning’s sons was hospitalized as a result of the attack outside the Banter Room and his daughter recounted the late morning assault on her Instagram, per the Vancouver Sun.

“I tried to fight them off my brother and then one of them strangled me and threw me up against the wall,” Danica Benning wrote in her post. “The police were notified but (the four men) ran off immediately. My brother is in the hospital.”

Vancouver Hockey Now’s Rob Simpson has more details about the incident here, but the partially good news is that it at least sounds like everybody is going to be okay despite some bumps and bruises.
