The Chicago Sky won their first championship in thrilling fashion after beating the Phoenix Mercury in Game 4 of the WNBA Finals. Sure enough, Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry couldn't hold back his excitement and joy for Candace Parker and the Windy City franchise.

Parker shocked the whole WNBA when she decided to join her hometown team in Chicago. After all, she was considered a cornerstone player of the Los Angeles Sparks, having spent her entire career with the team since being drafted in 2008.

Apparently, she saw something special with the Sky. And true enough, Parker wasn't wrong.

The Sky came back from a nine-point deficit heading to the fourth quarter to escape the Mercury and bag the WNBA title, 80-74. Curry, who was tuned in throughout the contest, was happy for the team with the historic win. The Warriors superstar even highlighted how much fun he had watching the contest.

Candace Parker was pivotal for the Sky, who became the first team who is not seeded 1 or 2 to win the WNBA championship. CP3 (Sorry, Chris Paul!) bagged 16 points on top of 13 rebounds and five assists to help propel Chicago, while Allie Quigley top-scored with 26 points and five boards.

Kahleah Copper. meanwhile, was named WNBA Finals MVP after her consistent showing throughout the series, pushing Chicago to a 3-1 victory.

As Stephen Curry said it, the game was definitely one for the books. In fact, aside from the Warriors star, several other NBA players like James Harden, Dwyane Wade, Ja Morant, and Trae Young watched and were hyped to see Parker and the Sky reach the pinnacle.

It's Parker's second WNBA title after winning her first one with the Sparks in 2016. However, there is no doubt winning it with her hometown team is surely just as special as her first.
