MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), the City of West Allis, Employ Milwaukee and Lutheran Social Services announced Sunday, Oct. 17, that the groups are partnering to host West Allis Local Connect, a healthcare, hospitality, and information technology industries job fair on Monday, Oct. 18.

Organizers say that the event will take place 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, at Hampton Inn and Suites Milwaukee West, 8201 W. Greenfield Ave.

“MATC is proud to partner with the City of West Allis, Employ Milwaukee, and Lutheran Social Services to provide a job fair focusing on the severe shortage of workers for these key employers in the West Allis community,” said Dr. Richard A. Busalacchi, campus executive director at MATC’s West Allis Campus,

Officials report that a recent City of West Allis and MATC survey of West Allis business owners revealed that 48% of West Allis business owners plan to increase staff in the next two years.

Additionally, organizers hope West Allis Local Connect will pair employers in the information technology, healthcare, and hospitality industries with local workers seeking employment.

“West Allis is committed to supporting the needs of employers in our community and providing resources for our residents to enhance or grow their career potential,” added Dan Devine, mayor of the City of West Allis. “We’re proud to partner with MATC, Employ Milwaukee, and Lutheran Social Services to provide this invaluable opportunity for employers and our talented workforce to connect.”
