The veteran is currently dealing with a neck stinger

Justin Turner is noticeably missing from the Dodgers’ lineup on Sunday. When speaking with reporters in the afternoon, manager Dave Roberts said that Turner is dealing with a stinger on the right side of his neck.

Chris Taylor will take Turner’s spot at third base. He took grounders at third base yesterday in case Turner would be unable to go.

Roberts also added that Turner couldn’t move his head to the right while trying to play through it last night. The pain didn’t get any better overnight. Turner is still available off the bench in a big spot if needed, but it sounds like LA will stay away from him.

It’s been a rough postseason for Turner, who is No. 1 in Dodgers history in nearly every postseason category. Outside of his home run back in the Wild Card game, Turner has done essentially nothing at the plate. In seven games, Turner is 3-for-28 (.107 AVG) and has seven strikeouts.

If it seems like it’s been some time since a Dodgers postseason lineup without Turner, well... it’s because it has been.

Cody Bellinger is back in the lineup at first base and Gavin Lux is back in the lineup playing center field.

We’ve seen Trea Turner and Corey Seager swap spots in the lineup a number of times this postseason, and they’ll swap again. Seager is back in his usual No. 2 spot in the lineup with Turner hitting third again.

The Atlanta Braves went with the exact same lineup, with the exception of the pitcher.
