Texans vs. Colts second quarter recap

Colts 6th drive (3 plays, 0 yards, 2:16) — The Texans defense shows up and turns Indianapolis three-and-out. The pass rush was starting to affect QB Carson Wentz, including another DE Jonathan Greenard sack on third-and-7.

Texans 6th drive (1 play, 0 yards, 0:08) — QB Davis Mills throws an interception over the middle looking for WR Nico Collins. LB Darius Leonard picks off the rookie.

Texans 7th drive (6 plays, 28 yards, 2:57) — The Texans aren’t able to effectively respond to the Colts’ scoring drive. Houston had to punt on a fourth-and-2 from their own 45-yard line.

Colts 8th drive (4 plays, 88 yards, 2:16) — RB Jonathan Taylor finally comes alive with an 83-yard run to get inside the Texans’ 10-yard line. Taylor finished off the drive with a 4-yard touchdown. Colts, 24-3

Texans 8th drive () — This drive, albeit a good one that is more than likely going to end in points, illustrates what’s wrong with the Texans. They just don’t have any big plays to move the chains. All credit to Mills leading the Texans on a 12-play drive to this point that gets to the edge of the Colts’ red zone. But it took almost seven minutes to get here. Who even knows if the drive actually ends in points, given coach David Culley’s penchant for going for it?
