Bengals vs. Lions inactives: Joe Mixon, Jackson Carman good to go

The Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions have announced their inactive players lists. Here are the players the Bengals will be without today:

  • CB Tre Flowers
  • DE Darius Hodge
  • NT Tyler Shelvin
  • WR Mike Thomas

As expected, Flowers will not make his Bengals debut this week. The former Seattle Seahawks cornerback was claimed by Cincinnati late this week to compensate for the loss of Trae Waynes.

Thomas, who missed last week’s game with an ankle injury, was questionable with his injury after practicing in limited fashion this week. With seven receivers on the roster, it’s difficult for the offense to dress all of them every week.

Hodge was inactive last week, so it’s not surprising to see him here again. Shelvin hasn’t been active for the entire year.

Not listed are Joe Mixon (ankle) and Jackson Carman, who was on the Reserve/COVID-19 list for most of this week. Mixon is expected to get his full workload for the first time since Week 4, but it remains unclear if Carman will start at right guard. Either him or Trey Hill will take the field.

Here are the Lions’ inactives:

  • DE Eric Banks
  • WR Trinity Benson
  • DE Jason Cornell
  • CB Mark Gilbert
  • OLB Jessie Lemonier
  • CB Daryl Worley

All six players appear to be healthy scratches for Detroit. The four players they listed as questionable: DE Trey Flowers, TE T.J. Hockenson, RB D’Andre Swift, and RB Jamaal Williams, will all play.
