The Atmosphere In St James Park Before Kick Off Was Electric, Newcastle Fans Are Buzzing

The new ownership has certainly left Newcastle fans buoyant, following the departure of Mike Ashley from the club.

Newcastle United fans created an amazing atmosphere ahead of kick off against Tottenham Hotspur, as they welcomed their new owners.

Newcastle fans were extremely happy that their new owners have meant the end of Mike Ashley's time as the owner of their club.

During his time in charge at St James' Park, Ashley had overseen two relegations to the Championship, an end to any ambition in the club, and even a temporary change of name to the stadium.

Fans had been unhappy with the Sports Direct owner being in charge of their club for some time and have celebrated their new Saudi owners.

Many fans were returning to the stadium for the first time in a while, for the game against Spurs, and fans created a brilliant noise ahead of kick off.

Things got even better for the Magpies, and their once again faithful fanbase, when Callum Wilson gave them the lead after just two minutes.

The new owners took control during the recent international window and there has been lots of talk about them sacking Steve Bruce and getting a new manager in.

The fans have been as unhappy with the style of Bruce's play as they have been with Ashley's ownership, at times at least.

Newcastle started Sunday in 19th place but the manager had survived the weeks leading up to the game to take charge of his 1000th match.

Earlier in the week, Jurgen Klopp brought up the fact that the new owner's riches would lead to them becoming a one team 'Super League.'

As well as those objections to the takeover, many have questioned the new owners due to questions about their human rights record in Saudi Arabia and the links between the Public Investment Fund, who own the club, and the government of the country.
