MADISON, Wis. – Community members gathered at Olbrich Botanical Gardens on Saturday to celebrate the opening of the new Family Learning Center.
The 8,500 square foot center is the first dedicated educational space in Olbrich’s history.
The center will offer classrooms, educational programs, school programs, summer writing camps, and youth and family programs.
“We’re just really excited to highlight the importance of connecting children to adults, really everyone with nature,” Olbrich education director Kim North said.
The center will use approximately 67 percent less energy than a building built with minimum code standards.
