Formula 1 legend Fernando Alonso reveals how he'd perform in a Red Bull or Mercedes car.
Alpine's Fernando Alonso is currently sitting at 10th in the driver's standings of Formula 1 this season. However, the Spaniard shared that the outcome of his races can be different, given the capabilities of cars under Red Bull and Mercedes.

“That’s difficult to answer,” Alonso told F1-Insider when asked if he could win the title in a Mercedes or Red Bull.
“But, yes, I would have the confidence to race for the title. But Lewis and Max are doing a great job in their teams. So there is no clear answer to that.”
The two-time world champion returned from his retirement in 2018 and has surpassed all odds, producing remarkable performances for his age.
However, Alonso has a drought of failing to win a race, but this isn't a knock on his ability. Cars by Red Bull and Mercedes are on an entirely different level. Both teams are constantly fighting for a podium finish this season and are neck and neck on the constructor's championship for Formula 1.
Despite the dominance of these two Formula 1 giants, drivers like Alonso have managed to have decent performances in qualifiers and races— outgunning talented drivers such as Esteban Ocon and Sebastian Vettel.
