The holiday season is fast approaching, and with the chip shortage and high GPU prices, getting viable gaming hardware is not only difficult to do, it can be very, very costly. Street Fighter 6 is currently unannounced, but we're expecting an unveiling here in the reasonably near future.

Due to the scarcity of gaming hardware, we wanted to discuss which platform Street Fighter 6 will likely play best on. While there's speculation offered here, Capcom has recently tipped their hand, and looking over history, there should be one platform that performs above all of the rest.

The main three platforms we cover are the personal computer (PC), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. With Capcom's recent acknowledgement that PC would be the main platform they focus on, along with Street Fighter 5 currently playing best there as well, it appears that the PC platform is the clear front runner. However, are they any potential problems with gamers going for that platform that may bump it down a spot or two?

Sony's PlayStation platforms are notorious for having issues with fighting games. From input delay, load times, to the console just not being able to keep up in general, we've seen a lot of bad things from that platform through the years when trying to play titles from this genre at the highest of levels. The PlayStation 5 is a very powerful machine though, with a strong SSD to offset load times, and numerous other hardware changes, how strong will performance be on the newest Sony hardware, and how extensive will the library be for people who like to dip into other games and genres?

We also get to the Xbox Series X, which was skipped entirely with Street Fighter 5, but there's also a solid history to look back upon for how Microsoft consoles have performed while running the latest and greatest fighting games. Exclusivity of titles, subscription fees and other factors could mean gamers don't want to go this route in the future, but Microsoft has a very nice track record for most fighting games in terms of input delay and overall performance.

In this episode of the EventHubs Podcast, we closely examine all three platforms and try and help gamers decipher where they should spend their cold hard cash for the next generation of Street Fighter.
