Boston Buzzing for Bruins Home Opener – NBC Boston

Fans of all ages were spotted dressed in black and gold across Boston on Saturday night and gathered at the TD Garden to watch the Bruins kick off the season.

“It’s fun to be back in the garden,” said Boston fan Joe August. “I can’t wait for my Bruins to start again, I’m looking forward to it. It’s been a tough run with COVID and now we’re getting back to it. “

While August longed to see his Bruins again, Zach Graveson flew in from Canada to be surrounded by like-minded fans.

“I grew up in Montreal with Canadian fans, so when I come here and see Bruins shirts wherever I feel, these people get me,” he said.

People like his father who came to Boston to celebrate his 60th birthday the Boston way.

“Huge weekend. 60 years old. I’ll see the Bruins, the Pats and the Red Sox,” said Dan Graveson. “We hope for three wins.”

Anyone who wants to play the Bruins or Celtics at TD Garden needs proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

There are high hopes for a great weekend of Texas matches. Aside from the Boston Bruins’ opener against Dallas Stars, the Boston Red Sox faced the Houston Astros in the second game of the ALCS series in Houston, and this weekend’s Patriots game is a competition with the Dallas Cowboys.

“It’s funny because I work in Texas for several weeks every month and I really want to see her beaten,” August said with a laugh.

With the new season coming new rules for fans attending games in the garden.

“We have, you know, vaccines or negative tests that we had to prove and we have to do the masks and I’m for everything,” said Pam Hanna.

With fans cheering carefree, a good mood calls for bold predictions:

“3-1 open net Boston,” said Zach Graveson.
