With Caleb Williams playing so well vs. TCU, Spencer Rattler is almost certainly transferring from the Oklahoma football team at the end of the season.

Now that Caleb Williams is the starting quarterback for the Oklahoma football team, it is only a matter of time before Spencer Rattler decides to transfer, or possibly turn pro.

The redshirt sophomore from Phoenix is draft-eligible, so he could enter the 2022 NFL Draft if he felt like it. However, his draft stock has cratered since he got benched for Williams in the Red River Showdown. Since last year did not count towards his eligibility, Rattler will have at least three more years worth of collegiate eligibility if he feels so inclined. Where could he end up?

Either Arizona school seems possible, but with the way that Williams is playing in Norman, Rattler’s time at Oklahoma is ending at the end of the year.

Spencer Rattler transfer rumors: Caleb Williams is thriving in his first start

While the TCU Horned Frogs are not world beaters in the Big 12, they are well-coached under Gary Patterson and they will gladly take a W when you beat yourself on the gridiron. Though Rattler and Williams were both five-stars coming out of high school, the Oklahoma passing game is taking flight more prolifically with Williams at the helm instead of Rattler. His time has run out.

Rattler has plenty of time to reinvent himself, but it is almost certainly will not be at Oklahoma.
