Crews find body of man who went boating and never returned

SOMERSET, R.I. (WLNE)- The body of a man who never returned from boating was found on Sunday.

Crews searched all day Saturday for a man who they say went out on the Taunton River, and never returned.

The search was called off around 6 p.m.

Firefighters, police, and members of the Coast Guard searched the waters of the Somerset Yacht Club near Gay Street for the man who allegedly took a dingy to his boat around 5 p.m. on Friday.

The man’s car was still in the private club’s parking lot Saturday morning.

Search crews, including the Massachusetts State Police Air Unit, searched the water from the Braga Memorial Bridge to the Town of Dighton.

Crews found the mans dingy, but still no sign of the boater.

Search efforts will continue on Sunday, according to officials.
